One Week Until Taste Salisbury 2023!

 

Salisbury: a hub of history, culture and an ever-growing food scene that continues to tingle the tastebuds! Get ready for another serving as we prepare to celebrate Salisbury’s vibrant foodie festival for a third year! And what a line-up we’ve got in store – a jam packed feast of foodie delights is coming your way; you won’t want to miss a single day of it...

 

For the gastronomes:


Allium are revealing a special, limited time menu, dedicated to the historical connections of Wiltshire. Their ‘Wiltshire Heritage Menu’ will be available for one weekend only and includes some optional delicious drink pairings. Côte Brasserie are bringing double the foodie fun as they host an invigorating Cheese & Wine Night, and also a relaxing Sunday afternoon Jazz Lunch. Explore a bustling marketplace as The Old George Mall bring you Tasty OGM, filled with artisanal products, handcrafted sweets & treats, and unique culinary treasures to take home.

 

Fisherton Mill are celebrating Taste with a foodie themed exhibition around the Gallery Café - ‘Feast Your Eyes’ willshowcase the works of more than 10 invited artists in the form of paintings, prints, ceramics, and textiles - be sure to sample a slice of their mouthwatering rose, pistachio, and strawberry gateaux, specially created for Taste 2023! You can also keep your hands busy with their fabulous Recipe Book Binding workshop inside their beautiful studio!


Celebrate all things booze:


Kick things off with the with the City Beer Festival, curated and presented by The Immersive Group! Sit back and enjoy the atmosphere, with over 30 different beers, ales, and ciders, alongside some super tasty street food. Oktoberfest will be in full swing at the Bishops Mill where they’ll be serving up authentic German beer, Bratwurst and Curry-wurst for the entire weekend! And SIPS are throwing a special beer-themed bash, showcasing their very own brew at SIPS 1.5 – plus, soak up that liquid gold with freshly made pizza from Nole!


If beer isn’t your thing, and you’d prefer something a little stronger, join Artisan Wine & Spirit Co at their incredible Rums & Drums event, including stunning food prepared on an open fire by Roam Catering, or pop along to The Winchester Gate for Blues, Booze & BBQ’s where you can enjoy a southern style BBQ and blues inspired drinks!


Free events for all the family:


Five Rivers Health & Wellbeing Centre are here to help when it comes to nutrition and keeping yourselves feeling good. Join them and their Health Improvement Coaches for a FREE workshop, A Healthy Gut is a Happy Gut, where you can learn about foods that keep your insides happy, and how to implement changes into your life for a positive outcome. 


Wiltshire Library have a whole host of foodie events happening for all age groups, and they’re completely FREE. Children can listen to tasty tales or follow a trail of delights around the library. Adults can enjoy a foodie themed book display, reminisce over their favourite childhood meals, or discuss food-based books as part of the library’s reading group!


Famous Foodie Faces


Taste Salisbury has got some incredibly talented chefs on the line-up this year! Watch as they demonstrate their culinary skills, and wow you with some delicious, authentic recipes. Giuseppe Dell’Anno, winner of ‘The Great British Bake Off 2021’ will be starting Taste Salisbury off with a ‘Britalian’ themed baking event on 28 September. Omari McQueen’smission to transform the way we think about food continues as he whips up some delicious vegan treats on 30 September – perfect for budding young chefs! And Lorna Cooper, founder of the Facebook community ‘Feed Your Family for about £20 a week’ will be cooking and talking to Salisbury Foodbank - giving you some great tips, tricks, and advice on how you can cook good, hearty food while on a budget!


Sunday Funday!


To mark the fourth and final day, Foodie Sunday is back with a huge line-up of events from 10am-4pm! From fab food demos and tastings with local chefs, to live music and the return of ‘The Great Salisbury Bake Off’ – don’t miss the chance to explore food vendors and retailers in a Market Square buzzing with activities, music and live demos! You’ll find so much to do, from a beer and cheese tasting with Ginny’s Dairy and Gritchie Brewing Co., to the beloved Time Travellers Kitchen where you can explore food and cooking traditions of the past. On Sunday, you can also join Salisbury Cathedral and give thanks for the fruits of the earth and those who produce them, at their Harvest Festival at 10:30am.
