Winterbourne Parish Council: Meet the third Wednesday of the month; September 18th,October 16th, November 20th at 7.30pm in the Ron Burton Room in Winterbourne Glebe Hall. Parishioners are welcome to attend. There are currently vacancies on the Parish Council, if you are interested in this role or have any concerns or something to report please contact the Parish Clerk on 07427 406943 or clerk-parishcouncil@thewinterbournes.org.uk

Annual Parish Footpath Walk: Sunday, 22nd September. Meet at Winterbourne Glebe Hall from 1.30pm to 4.30pm to collect a footpath map and report form (to report back on the condition of the footpaths). A fun Nature/Scavenger hunt is included. All ages and dogs welcome. Free refreshments.

Community Days: September 21st, October 19th, November 23rd 9am to 12noon. Meet in the village playground carpark. Get involved with litter picking, clearing footpaths and trimming hedgerows etc. Equipment and high-viz jackets provided. All ages welcome. Bourne Valley Link Scheme: Celebrating 20th Anniversary with AGM and Coffee Morning from 10.30 -12.00 noon on Saturday 28th September at Idmiston Memorial Hall, Porton. FREE refreshments. Harvest Services in your Anglican Churches: St Mary’s, Winterbourne Gunner (near Policeman’s Corner – junction A338 & Gomeldon Road) at 9.30am on Sunday 8th September and St Michael’s & All Angels, Winterbourne Earls at 11am on Sunday 22nd September. Donations of tinned and packet foods will be given to the Trussell Trust. Winterbournes Petanque Club: Social and competitive play takes place at the Winterbourne Arms on Friday early evenings and Saturday afternoons, or by arrangement with Sarah 01980 619351. All ages are welcome to come and have a go.

Winterbourne Cricket Club: The cricket club will hold its annual cricket ‘Festival’ at the Portway Ground on Bank Holiday Monday, 26th August from 12.00 noon and this year, will include an introductory girls/ladies ‘softball’ match. Anyone wishing to participate individually, as part of a team, or just interested to learn more, is encouraged to contact the Club by e-mail at womenscricket@winterbournecc.com If successful, the club hopes to enter a local ladies softball competition next year. Please come along. All ages welcome.

Scouts Wanted! Bourne Valley Scout Group's Friday Troop is looking for new youth members. We are an active and successful Troop that enjoys the outdoors and have spaces for boys and girls aged 10½-14 years. We're just back from a week's camp where, amongst other things, our scouts enjoyed canoeing, climbing, archery, orienteering and hiking. Come along and join us for our next adventure.
